BIO:

Renee began her maternal health career in August of 2020 and received her professional training with DONA International and The Newborn Care Training Academy. With 20 years of healthcare research experience, Renee’s appreciation for evidence-based healthcare informs her approach to birth work. Having experience with diverse populations, she brings strong interpersonal skills; very practical yet effective.

 

As a Birth Doula and Newborn Care Specialist, Renee’s intention is to serve, advocate, and provoke thought. Her philosophy is that the start of a family should be filled with intention, respect, and kindness while empowering her clients to make informed and empowered decisions.

 

Renee is also a mom of three; ages 18, 15, and 12. It is through her own experiences during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum that she brings trauma-informed support and care to her clients. Renee’s personal journey taught her that the start of a family is sacred and that our past, present, and futures are in each individual birth.

Fun Facts:

Renee’s favorite 3's:Travel, nature, and silly socks. Hot tea, baking, and family time. Selfcare: long hot baths, podcast, reading, and Peloton. 

What to expect:

Culturally relevant support and care. Expect Renee to speak in gentle/warm tones. Renee is keen on social discernment perceiving intentions with clarity. Consistent with her beliefs of childbirth, Renee will tend to the mind, body, and spirit in the preparation for birth and immediate postpartum.
