BIO:

Renee is a DONA trained Birth Doula, where the curriculum included breastfeeding support, childbirth education, and physical comfort measures. Prior to Birth Doula training, Renee has spent the past 20 years as an administrator in the field of healthcare research, her experience and appreciation for evidence-based healthcare informs her approach to Birth Doula care and advocacy for maternal health.

Renee’s experience with diverse populations supports an experience to use her trained skills and natural talents to support all birthing families. Renee is a mom of three beautiful children and her own experiences and trauma during childbirth inspired her work in the birth industry. Renee believes that childbirth is a sacred experience and that our past, present, and futures are in each individual birth.

Dunkin Donuts, hot tea, and silly socks; Baking, spending time with her village of family and friends on her deck garden, and Instagram birth videos; Selfcare: long hot baths, podcast, reading, and Peloton.

What to Expect:

What to expect from Renee: Culturally relevant and informed support and care. Strong interpersonal skills; very practical yet effective. Expect Renee to speak in gentle/warm tones. Renee’s clients and friends often speak about her heart of servitude and extra TLC she pours into her work. Renee has also been very keen to discerning situations and positively influencing a shift in the room. Consistent with her beliefs of childbirth, Renee will tend to the mind, body, and spirit in the preparation for birth and immediate postpartum.
