BIO:

J’s is a Birth and Postpartum Doula, and a graduate from Towson University (Towson, MD) with a degree in Biology and a dual minor Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and Bioinformatics (MBIII) and Women Studies. She is also currently in midwifery school pursuing requirements to become a Licensed Midwife/Certified Professional Midwife. 

During her pursuit of being a birth worker, she fell in love with holistic birthing methods. She has been a doula since 2011. She has supported and assisted VBAC, teen parents, and birthing people who have opted for a traditional hospital birth atmosphere, as well as home water birth practices. She has been fortunate to be mentored by some of the very best and established doulas, midwives and OB/GYNs in California and the DMV. Her skills are to efficiently direct your senses from the discomfort of labor via massaging techniques, affirmative speech, touch, the use of sound, and changing of positions to aid in the progression of your labor. She would be overjoyed to help support your preferences and assist with your emotional, informational, and physical support during pregnancy/ labor and postpartum.

Personally, she is looking forward to her growth in being a mom! She is happy to exchange knowledge with all and does almsgiving with a humbled heart.

What to expect from J.: Peace, compassion, and motivation. She is very in-tuned with those she supports; to align myself with what’s is right for their body and their family. She will support the heart and truth of their needs and goals for an experience and outcome of a healthy mama and a healthy baby.
