New Year, New Parent, New Goals
It’s a new year and each January Doulas of Capitol Hill founder, Emily Smith, picks a word for the year. This word is more than a new years resolution. It is part guide, part manifestation of goals for the company. We choose a word to shape the way we meet the needs of new parents in our area.
This year our word is INVEST. Our team has enjoyed 4 amazing years as a concierge company providing doulas, newborn care, lactation, education, and community to new parents in the DC area. We’re excited to enter our 5th year and invest more in our 3 Guiding Principles: Supporting the Families, Building the Community, and Growing the Profession.
Support the Family
Invest in families who cannot afford support with the Pay it Forward scholarship option
Invest in families with more concierge services - Babywearing, Photography, Personal Chef, new remote support for Lactation.
Build the Community
Invest in our community with four new affiliates or community partners in 2020 (Freshly Moms,Akoma Counseling, and two more TBA!)
Invest in our DCH Village with DCH Meet-up’s scheduled at the beginning of the year.
Invest in our local Capitol Hill Community by attending Hilloween for 5th year in a row!
Grow the Profession
Invest in our doulas and lactation consultants with scholarship to our professionals during world doula week 2020
Invest in our professionals with a gratuity option at the completion of our clients support.
With 2020 stretched out ahead of us we have so much to accomplish and are glad to share it with you!
