Sweet Potato Hummus

It’s that time again, Doulas of Capitol Hill is celebrating Healthy for the Holidays. The holiday season is filled with so much joy and celebration. But we know that it can also bring on a lot of stress and heavy comfort foods. For the months of November and December we will be encouraging ways to stay healthy, including supplying some easy and delicious recipes that don’t lack any flavor! 

Chef and postpartum doula, Vanessa Fowler, is continuing on with a common ingredient from our last recipe. Today she is sharing with us a sweet potato hummus!

The fun thing about sweet potatoes is that it’s a starch but it has a sweet flavor so it can be used in dessert type foods, but it can also be used in more hearty, savory type dishes. This hummus is a fun take on a traditional and very popular appetizer. It’s the perfect twist for your Thanksgiving meal. Or add it to your avocado toast in the morning for a healthy and cozy breakfast. Let us how you plan to enjoy it!
