World Doula Week Scholarships: Sign-On Bonus for New Team Members + Essay Contest

Our 2024 word of the year is Experience.

Doulas of Capitol Hill is committed to supporting our clients to have an excellent experience, to building our community through sharing inclusive and anti-racist affiliate businesses and organizations, and growing our professional skills so that each doula feels confident to have a thriving and sustainable career as a birth-worker through our monthly Town Halls.

This year, we are contributing to the Doula Community and to the professional growth of doulas in two ways:

First: We are offering a sign on bonus for those we hire at our In Person Hiring Fair to be held on March 28 from 10am-2pm at The Gaylord in National Harbor. We are looking for Birth Doulas, Postpartum Doulas, Newborn Care Specialists and Massage Therapists who are ready to work immediately!

Please email us today to register for the event!

Second: Doulas of Capitol Hill is granting a $500 scholarship to one team member to go towards a professional doula certification of their choice to further their growth and understanding as a birth worker.

The essay prompt is:

What does a “positive experience” mean to you and to your doula clients? How do you elevate your professional experience?

Contest Requirements

To enter the contest, you will need to write an essay. The essay must include a segment on how this certification will grow your experience, your personal values, goals, and aspirations, as they pertain to your doula career.

We are looking for these essays to exhibit warmth, professionalism, and non-judgemental support.

There are no essay requirements in terms of length, style, or format.

The essays must be Emailed to Ashley@DoualsofCapitolHill.com by March 27 with the subject line “Doula Week Essay”.
