The Perfect Mocktails For The Parents-To-Be

Nine months in the grand scheme of things isn’t that long. Nine months when you’re pregnant, can feel like an eternity. Some of your favorite foods have been temporarily removed from your regular menu, not to mention - alcoholic beverages.

National Sober Day is celebrated this month on September 14th. To celebrate, we thought we’d share some tasty mocktails for all you parents-to-be! Invite a few friends over to try out these yummy mocktail recipes. What are you craving most? See if you can incorporate some of the foods you’re missing most in a thirst quenching mocktail!

Pina Colada Mocktail

Cozy up on your favorite chair and image you’re swaying in a hammock on your go-to beach spot. (If you have a hammock, please indulge!) This recipe only calls for three ingredients: coconut milk, frozen pineapple, and pineapple juice. All you need is a basic blender and you’ll be set!

Moscow Mule Mocktail

Craving something bitter? Polish up your best hammered copper mug and get ready to lock into lime time! This classic cocktail can be whipped up with ingredients you likely already have in your kitchen. What we love about this recipe is that it doesn’t require a cocktail shaker. Just toss in ice, add the lime, non-alcoholic ginger beer, and club soda. Looking to add a bit more flair? Top it off with a fresh lime wedge and a splash of bitters.

Bloody Mary Mocktail

Looking to get your daily dose of fruit and vegetables? This Bloody Mary Mocktail is the drink for you! In addition to a blender, you’ll need a food processor, measuring cups, and measuring spoons. Bloody Mary Mocktails can be enjoyed any time of day and we’d especially recommend enjoying one at brunch! This recipe is handy, because you can make a pitcher ahead of time and pour out a glass when you please.

Champagne Punch Cocktail

Clink, clink! Cheers to you, parents! What a great mocktail for any special occasion you’re celebrating while expecting. The ginger ale will give you the fizz of a traditional champagne and the white grape juice will give you a similar taste. Plop in a raspberry to add extra sweetness.

We  hope you’ll sip one or all of these mocktails and enjoy your pregnancy journey. For more mocktail recipes, visit birtheatlove.com. Below, we’ve included some fun sober activities to accompany your mocktails.

3. Book A Cooking Class

Culinary classes are quite popular and can be found in most major cities. Seats fill up quickly, so be sure to book far in advance. In our opinion, the best part of cooking classes is getting to keep the new recipes and recreate them at home!
